AI and the Defense
New Jersey’s lieutenant governor Dale Caldwell was forced to resign after an investigation found he had sexually harassed a staffer and violated ethics rules. The former official has made media appearances to clear his name, employing an unconventional approach during an interview on NJ PBS.
Former Official Relies on Automated Analysis
Caldwell resigned following a sexual harassment investigation, but insists artificial intelligence analysis indicates he is innocent.
Chatbot Limitations
Caldwell claimed he was targeted unfairly, stating that multiple artificial intelligence agents support his position. He told an interviewer that he processed the investigation report through several platforms, asserting that none of the outputs concluded there was evidence of sexual harassment.
AI chatbots are notoriously sycophantic and often tell users what they want to hear. And it seems highly unlikely that Caldwell would want to hear an AI confirm findings that he engaged in sexual harassment.
