CarPlay Update
Apple has redesigned the Podcasts app and upgraded Siri AI.
CarPlay Update
Apple has officially released iOS 27.2, bringing more Siri and AI functions to iPhone users. Because CarPlay is powered by iOS running directly from a connected iPhone, the rollout introduces several changes to the vehicle interface as well.
Podcasts Redesign
The company has updated the Podcasts app Home tab to add New Episodes and Continue Playing sections. The previous Up Next section has been removed entirely and replaced with these alternatives. Users can now find the latest installments of their shows in the New Episodes section and resume playback from where they left off using the Continue Playing section.
Siri AI Upgrades
In addition, iOS 27.2 brings several Siri AI upgrades to CarPlay. Similar to mobile functionality, the assistant on CarPlay can now recall past conversations, allowing users to reference previous chats. Siri can also draw from additional sources for more detailed responses, including voicemails, Safari history, Reading List items, Calendar event attendees, and photos attached in Messages.
Additional Changes
The update includes minor visual changes, such as a redesigned Music app icon featuring a monochromatic look that shifts between white and black depending on the active display mode.
