Design and Fit
Samsung is launching the Galaxy Buds On, featuring a clip-on design aimed at providing a more secure fit than traditional open-ear options.
While they do not feature heavy noise cancellation, the company incorporates Audio Leakage Reduction technology designed to suppress sound leakage by using reversed sound waves at the rear of each bud. Samsung utilized data from over 119 million ear scans to accommodate various ear shapes, and the device includes IP54 water resistance.
The hardware is engineered for a low-pressure fit around the ear, avoiding the canal sealing typically found in standard wireless earbuds. Previous open-style releases from the brand include the Galaxy Buds Live and the semi-in-ear Galaxy Buds 4.
Audio and Battery
Inside, the Galaxy Buds On feature a high-efficiency Class-D amplifier built to balance power usage and sound output. Battery performance is rated at an estimated 9.5 hours of continuous music playback on a single charge, extending up to 38 hours total with the included charging case.
Smart Features and Controls
The earbuds utilize a three-microphone array combined with a voice pickup unit to isolate speech and filter out environmental noise such as traffic and construction. Users can also utilize head-gesture controls, including nodding or shaking the head to manage calls and dismiss notifications. Integration with Galaxy smartphones provides direct access to Gemini Live, Quick Voice Memo recordings, and automatic pairing upon opening the case.
Pricing and Availability
The Galaxy Buds On are scheduled to launch in early November 2026 with a retail price of $229.
