Akimbo Wingman and New Weapons

Apex Legends: Cipher is coming on November 3 and introduces a new weapon style for the semi-automatic revolver that utilizes Sniper Ammo.

The update introduces the Akimbo Wingman, allowing players to wield two revolvers at once, which trades off some accuracy for significantly higher damage output.

The Wingman remains deadly in accurate hands across any distance, requiring two to four headshots for a kill depending on armor.

The dual-wield option encourages close-quarters combat. Developers will monitor balance closely following the quick nerfs previously applied to the Akimbo Mozambique.

Character Reworks and Buffs

Crypto is receiving a rework dubbed Crypto Rewired, shifting his role into a push-forward intel machine. His Surveillance Drone now runs on batteries instead of a cooldown, features a new Sentry Mode, and his EMP Ultimate can be deployed instantly.

Strongholds and Ranked Updates

Cipher also introduces Strongholds as an evolution of care packages, requiring squads to raid locations for crate weapons, corrupted attachments, and EVO shield boosts while triggering an audible alarm.

Revenant receives a shorter ultimate cooldown, a faster tactical, and new upgrades allowing him to extend his ultimate with each knock or silence players with Shadow Pounce.

Lifeline receives a reduced drone cooldown, self-healing while gliding, ultimate cooldown reduction, improved flight mobility, and the return of her signature revive shield.

Ranked updates bring Legend Bans to Diamond lobbies and above, allowing players to vote on specific characters to exclude from matches.
