Kickstarter Launch
Clash Royale: The Grand Arena has officially launched on Kickstarter and quickly surpassed its initial $25,000 funding goal in less than an hour.
The tabletop adaptation serves as a faithful translation of the popular mobile title. Backer pledges start at $49 for those looking to secure a copy prior to release.
This project marks another collaboration between Maestro Media and Supercell, following Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid, which raised over $500,000 on Kickstarter. The current crowdfunding campaign runs through November.
Design and Gameplay
Lead designer David Gordon explained that the team experimented with real-time mechanics and simultaneous reveals before settling on an elixir-spending, turn-based card system that accurately mimics the digital experience.
Built for two to four players, the game assigns each participant an eight-card deck and a chosen Champion. Competitors spend elixir to command forces and destroy opponent towers, earning crowns to determine the ultimate winner.
Gordon emphasized that the design ensures newcomers unfamiliar with the mobile video game can still easily pick up the rules and enjoy the tabletop experience.
Clash Royale: The Grand Arena is currently live on Kickstarter, offering multiple pledge tiers alongside expansion options.
