DLC Access Requirements

Players must complete Crimson Desert’s main storyline to access the upcoming character DLC stories for Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane.

Pearl Abyss outlined two distinct entry points for the Charting the Unknown expansion, which launches on October 29. The epilogue story content for the three main characters requires completion of the main campaign. Meanwhile, the open-world content—which features exploration and naval gameplay—only requires players to have established the Greymane camp during Chapter 3.

Character Epilogues

The expansion features dedicated storylines exploring the post-campaign lives and motivations of Damiane, Oongka, and Kliff as they part ways and navigate the world individually.

In addition to the character-focused chapters, players can explore a brand new area of the map through a separate quest line.

Spoiler Prevention

Restricting the epilogue content to post-game players prevents major narrative spoilers that would otherwise occur if the stories were integrated directly into the main campaign.

Developers noted that while story-focused players will need to finish the campaign first, those primarily interested in open-world exploration can access those features much earlier.

Completion Rates

Data from Steam achievements indicates that 10.8% of players have unlocked the Expert Storyteller achievement for completing all main quests, reflecting the massive scale and time commitment required by Crimson Desert.

The Charting the Unknown expansion introduces new narrative content, ocean navigation, romance mechanics, business management systems, and expanded housing options to the game world.
