Overview and Edgerunners Content
CD Projekt Red has revealed what to expect from the Cyberpunk 2077 2.5 update, which ties in with the release of Netflix anime Edgerunners 2.
Edgerunners content includes a new side quest called Clampdown, which is set before the events of Edgerunners 2. During this quest you will get a new 5-piece gear set based on the character King from Season 2. There is also a new radio station featuring tracks from the Edgerunners series.
New Quests and Customization
Additional quests arriving in version 2.5 include Welcome to Paradise!, taking players on a guided tour narrated by Richard Night, and an expansion of Fool on the Hill featuring new tarot cards.
The update also introduces hand cyberware customization, allowing players to give Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, or Projectile Launch System implants a new look complete with unique vendor scenes and customizable color palettes.
Dual-Wielding and Combat Changes
A major highlight of version 2.5 is the new Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree, enabling players to dual-wield Pistols and Revolvers from the Power category for the very first time.
Mod Support and Quality of Life
Cross-platform mod support arrives on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X and S. Quality of life additions include saves grouped by individual playthroughs and a console FOV slider.
Technical Enhancements
On the technical side, the update brings support for DLSS 4.5—including up to 6X Multi Frame Generation—along with the 2nd Generation Transformer Model and general performance optimizations.
Version 2.5 serves as a substantial surprise addition to Night City, offering both returning players and newcomers fresh incentives to dive back into the game.
