Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Brings Mods and New Content
Alongside the new anime season, developer CD Projekt Red has prepared substantial game updates tailored for both newcomers and returning players.
Edgerunners Content and Gameplay Additions
The Edgerunners-specific content features a brand-new side quest, a gear set based on the character Weak Kingsley, and a dedicated radio station playing tracks from the anime series.
For all players, the patch adds a Double Trouble perk option enabling dual-wielding for pistols and revolvers, a Richard Night-guided city tour side quest, and access to curated player-created modifications through the in-game menu.
Cross-Platform Modding
Powered by mod.io, the initial rollout of cross-platform modding lets users browse and install selected player-created modifications directly inside the game. This feature is supported on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
CDPR confirms that additional mods will become accessible over time, significantly extending the game's replayability years after its initial release.
Technical Improvements and Release Date
Additional improvements include grouped saves sorted by playthrough, DLSS 4.5 support, glasses-free 3D effects, and a console FOV slider. The update releases on October 22nd for PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store versions arriving in the following days.
