Cybersecurity Incident
Warhorse Studios — the developer behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance, its sequel, and an upcoming Lord of the Rings RPG — has been hit by a serious cyberattack, the company announced.
The developer is currently working with cybersecurity experts to secure its systems, investigate the incident, and assess its full impact. Warhorse has also reached out to authorities to track down the culprits who accessed company systems and data.
Studio Response
This is a serious incident for Warhorse Studios and everyone affected, said Martin Frývaldský, CEO of Warhorse Studios. Our immediate priority is to secure our systems, establish the full extent of the breach, and take the necessary steps to protect our employees, partners, and community.
The studio stated it is dedicating the resources needed to address the situation and will communicate further information as soon as possible.
Warhorse noted it will not comment further or conduct interviews on the topic at this time, meaning the full extent of the attack remains unclear.
Upcoming Projects
Warhorse Studios is currently working on an open-world Middle-earth RPG and a new Kingdom Come title following the massive success of its previous releases.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 launched to critical and commercial acclaim, praised for its melee combat and story.
Daniel Vávra, the previous director of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, stepped down from his role earlier in the year to focus on a film adaptation.
Security incidents have impacted multiple gaming and retail companies recently, though connections between the various breaches remain unconfirmed.
