Patch Disruption
A new update for Modern Warfare 4 has sparked frustration among players by making it impossible to earn a tactical nuke Killstreak in the Free-for-All multiplayer mode.
Infinity Ward announced adjustments to the mode via social media, confirming a score reduction and a party size limit. Players can now enter matches with only one friend, and the score required to win has dropped from 30 kills down to 25.
Challenge Completion Blocked
The adjustment has locked players out of fully completing the game's challenges. The Ground Zero Calling Card requires earning a tactical nuke within a Free-for-All match, but the lower score cap makes securing the necessary 30 consecutive kills without dying impossible.
Developers have not yet indicated whether they plan to lower the nuke requirement or alter the calling card challenge to accommodate the new match limits.
Addressing Account Boosting
The update was implemented to combat an increase in account boosting within the playlist, where groups coordinated to farm kills and unlock rewards at the expense of regular matches.
While the changes curb illicit boosting, legitimate players have criticized the restriction on traditional match lengths and the sudden roadblock for achievement hunters.
Given the widespread negative feedback, community members anticipate potential adjustments or a reversal from the development team.
